Along Hua Hin’s main street, Petchkasem Road, there are several banks. Most are open from Monday to Friday between 8.30 am and 3.30 pm. There are also great supplies of foreign exchange offices, which are open daytime as well as night-time and weekends. If you need to withdraw money, you will not have to look long before you find an ATM accepting both VISA and MasterCard. In order to change money in one of the foreign exchange offices, you need to bring your passport as you are likely to be asked to show it.

Should you not yet be a customer with one of the Thai banks, but in the process of choosing one, it could be good to know that most of the below banks have branches all over Thailand. In order to open an account (so-called non-resident) with a Thai bank, you only need to show your passport and state an address in Thailand. Bangkok Bank is the biggest Thai bank, having branches and ATMs virtually in every Thai village. In the bank’s single Hua Hin office, however, there are often long queues making both Bank of Ayudhya and Siam Commercial Bank appear as good alternatives, considering they both have three offices each in Hua Hin.
