Some 10 kilometers north of Hua Hin lies Palm Hills Golf & Country Club that undoubtedly is one of the best and most popular golf courses in the area. The course was designed by Max Wexler and opened to the public in 1991. The 18 holes altogether make up 6,892 yards. The course is played from east to west.

Many holes are characterised by lots of water, as the course is winding between a lake and a number of watercourses. The fairways are wide, but newly planted trees may increase the degree of difficulty as the trees grow large. This is especially true for players with long swings. The greens are excellent and fast. The course offers views of mountains as well as the sea.

The club house is lavishly fitted out and the area offers, as a complement to the golf, also possibilities for tennis, squash and badminton.

There is a lot of talk about Palm Hills in Hua Hin and one of the main reasons is that the Palm Hills “concept”, besides the golf course, also incorporates a great number of land plots, on which quite spectacular houses have sprung up like mushrooms the last couple of years. The residents at the course have set up their own forum that can be visited on www.livinginpalmhills.org.

The green fee is 2,200 baht, the caddy fee 200 baht and a cart is 650 baht. It is also possible to rent golf clubs at the price of 1,000 baht.
