Black Mountain Golf Club is the newest of Hua Hin’s golf courses. It was opened on 20 April 2007 and has been much frequented by golfers ever since. From construction start, it took 14 months to complete the works, which is indeed rather impressive. At the beginning of May, the course was closed for a number of days due to heavy rainfall. Since that time, it has been in excellent condition. The fairways are wide and the greens are fast. The grass on fairways, tees and ruffs are “paspalum” coastal grass. The greens have “tifeagle” Bermuda grass. Being a golfing tourist in Hua Hin, missing a round at Black Mountain appears a major mistake, as it indeed looks set to become one of Asia’s foremost golf courses.

The person behind the design is Phil Ryan and has long experience of golf projects in Southeast Asia. The name of the project leader is Gavan Wilson, who also has long experience of golf projects in Thailand. Kenny Walker is the manager of Black Mountain Golf Club. The pro of the golf club is Jörgen Persson.

Among the club’s facilities, it is worth mentioning a delicious gourmet restaurant with Swedish chef, a pro shop, driving range, practicing greens, chipping greens, etc. It is possible to rent clubs, cart and caddy at reasonable prices.

Green fee: 2,000 baht (opening promotion valid until further notice).

Caddy: 250 baht.

Cart: 600 baht.

Clubs: 1,000 baht.

The Black Mountain “concept” not only includes a golf course but also properties — villas and condominiums. In the future, there is also going to be a resort adjacent to the course.
