Diving
If you have come to Hua Hin for diving, you would likely want to contact one of the operators organising diving trips in order not to get disappointed. Diving right off the coast of Hua Hin does not provide you with the best in terms of visibility — as a matter of fact, the water is somewhat muddy. However, good diving can be found just a few hours south of town in the surrounding waters of the private island of Koh Talu. The corals here are in good condition and the place is untouched. For more information on this, we recommend you to visit Bangsaphan Guide or Asia Dive Site. Yet a bit south, the famous backpacker island Koh Tao is located. Koh Tao is, together with Similan Islands on the west coast, Thailand’s most famous diving site. Getting to Koh Tao from Hua HIn is fairly straightforward. First, you go to Chumpon and from there, you take one of the high speed ferries out to the island. If you have a couple of spare days, and you love to dive, visiting Koh Tao is clearly a must. If you are lucky you will see a whale-shark — an animal that the Koh Tao-diving is highly famous for.
