Long time ago, Khao Wang was King Mongkut’s (Rama IV’s) summer palace. Nowadays it is, together with two adjacent temples, Thailand’s most visited museum. Every year, about half a million people visit the museum. The palace is beautifully located in Petchaburi, on the highest point of a mountain — near the Khao Luang cave. From this spot you have a stunning view over the region. Visiting Khao Wang and the surrounding attractions is a perfect day trip when staying in Hua Hin.
